About the event
For the month of July, we're challenging you to learn more about Ventura's Green-Certified businesses and take a pledge to reduce single-use plastic in your everyday life! We're bringing Plastic Free July™ to Ventura with Choose Reuse Ventura - beginning with our free kickoff party in Downtown Ventura on July 4th. We'll be popping up at Findings Market from 11-2 to turn t-shirts into reusable bags and tell you more about Choose Reuse Ventura! Supplies needed for the Choose Reuse Ventura initiative will be available at our kickoff party.
While supplies last, we'll have old t-shirts for you to choose from and fabric paints to make into your own reusable bag! You're also welcome to bring a favorite old t-shirt that you don't wear much anymore.
Choose Reuse Ventura is an initiative through the month of July, created in partnership with Climate Conversations and the City of Ventura. The goal is to promote conscientious consumerism by showcasing Green-Certified businesses throughout Ventura that utilize practices to steer consumers away from single-use products and services. These practices include, but are not limited to, using refillable vessels, accepting personal food and beverage containers, and encouraging overall less plastic use.
For Choose Reuse Ventura, participants have the opportunity to win a goodie bag from the City of Ventura by obtaining our special stamp card, visiting the listed businesses, and turning it in when finished.
